Selecting A Dryer

A clothes dryer has become a necessity in the household because nowadays people are very demanding and want things to be done fast. Having a dryer would give lots of advantages; who wouldn’t want to wash and dry clothes at the same day? With a dryer, you will never have to wait several days to put on your favorite t-shirt again.

Although there are many benefits that you can get from a dryer, finding one would not be so easy. There are so many things to be considered, according to your need. First of all, if you are planning to use the dryer on daily basis, you might want to choose a dryer that can save you lots of energy, since a dryer might cost lots of money to operate.

Furthermore, you would also need enough space in the house to put your dryer. The size of regular dryer is about 24-33 inches wide or 61-84 cm, and for your convenient, you need to prepare an extra space in front of the dryer approximately 42 inches or 107 cm. If you want to be more efficient in spacing matter, you can also choose a washer-dryer machine instead of having two separate machines.

Another consideration is the size of the drum. How much clothes are you drying everyday? The bigger the drum is, the more clothes you can put in. There are four categories of drum sizes which are: compact (2-4 cubic feet), medium (4-5.8 cubic feet), large (5.9-6.9 cubic feet), and extra large (7 cubic feet and more).

Moreover, when choosing a dryer you need to think about the kinds of clothes you are planning to put in the dryer. If you have many clothes that are made with delicate fabric, you might want to choose a dryer that has various options for fabric care. That way, you can always sure that your clothes will come out perfectly dry without any damage.

Features of a dryer are something that you need to do research about. Pay attention to which features that are very important and which one that you think is not very necessary. For example, with an electronic moisture control, the dryer will prevent the clothes to have too much dry condition or shrink. Another feature that is popular among the users is the stationary rack. With this rack, you would be able to put your shoes in the dryer without making them tumble.

Even though having a dryer will make your work become very efficient, it would still be great if you can minimize the use in order to save the energy. For example, if all possible you can use the sunlight to dry your clothes. While the sun is shining, you should take an advantage of it. If the weather is not as hot as you think, you can still hang your clothes outside then continue drying it with a dryer. That way, you will only use half of the energy.

It is also important not to overload the drum because when the machine detects the amount of the clothes, it will decide the amount of time it will need to dry all of them. So if you put too much clothes, the dryer will operate for a longer time, which means that it will cost more energy. Besides, it may cause wrinkles on your clothes as well.

There are still more things that you need to remember in order to save energy while using dryer like not to put soaking wet clothes, not to mix heavy with lightweight clothes, clean the filter after each use, etc. Although having a dryer is very convenient, we must realize that saving our energy on earth is also important.
