A window shutter or window covering is something that people use mainly to control the amount of sunlight coming into the house, keep the privacy, protection from the weather, and as a decoration of a house. There are two kinds of window shutter, which are the interior shutter and the exterior shutter. Just like their names, interior shutter is used inside while the exterior shutter is places outside.

With the exterior shutter that is installed outside the building, it will function to control the sunlight, protect the privacy and prevent exterior damages. Exterior shutters are made more because of its function and not on its design.

• Metal mini blinds: it is not an expensive option, easy to measure and install. There are many colors available so you have the freedom to choose which one would suit your home best. Unfortunately, it is a little bit difficult to clean and due to its texture that is easy to bend, it might not last very long.

• Wood blinds: this is also another covering which is easy to measure and install. With the wood blinds, you will have a casual look in the room.

• Vertical blinds: with this kind of window covering, you will be able to cover a tall window. The price is medium, not too expensive. Even though it may cover the whole window, sometimes it might not have the ability to protect direct sunlight.

• Roller shades: it will give a clean look on the window of your house. If your intention of having roller shades is to block the sunlight, then you need to choose a thicker one. With many designs and colors available, you can choose on that matches the interior of the room.

• Woven shades: you can choose wooden shades to give more casual look in the room. It is made in different materials like woods or fabrics and the price is considered medium. Moreover, woven shades are easy to install and you might not need any help from professional window installer.

• Honeycomb and pleated shades: there are many types available with different price range, from medium to the expensive one. Some will function really well on protecting the room from direct sunlight while the others will only function more as a decoration of the room.

• Roman shades: with this kind of shades, the appearance of the room would look softer. The price range of roman shades is from medium to expensive. If you choose the thick one, you can block the sunlight very well. There are many design patterns available on roman shades so you have a wide variety of choices. This type of shades is known to fade over time and quite hard to clean.

• Wooden shutters: it is a very popular type of shades because the design is very trendy and functions very well. Wooden shutters are usually offered with a very high price but it will definitely last longer than the other window coverings. There are also many options of colors available. Many people usually choose the custom made shutters in order to match perfectly to the windows.
